Anti-spam Settings
Learn how to reduce spam with NG words and rate limiting
Anti-spam settings help block inappropriate public submissions with NG words and rate limiting. Tune the rules so spam is reduced without making normal inquiries harder to submit
Anti-spam Setup Flow
1
Configure NG Words
Enter NG word rules one per line in form settings
- Multiple lines are treated as OR conditions
- Multiple words separated by spaces on one line are treated as AND conditions
- Submitters are not shown which NG word matched
2
Check Scope
Confirm where NG word checks apply
- In inquiries, subject, name, and text-based custom fields are checked
- In discussions, title, submitter name, thread body, and comment body are checked
- Posts from the management screen are not checked by NG words
3
Configure Rate Limiting
Configure the rate-limit duration for repeated submissions
- Inquiries, messages, and discussion posts share the post_token cookie
- The default duration is 300 seconds
- The allowed range is 60 to 86400 seconds
4
Test the Settings
Send test submissions to confirm both blocking and normal submission
- Confirm that submissions containing NG words are blocked
- Confirm that normal inquiries and comments can still be submitted
- If blocking is too broad, make the rules more specific
Before You Start
- You need permission to change form settings
- Prepare the words or patterns you want to block
- Decide the rate-limit duration that fits your operation
Configuration Tips
- Very short NG words can block legitimate inquiries unintentionally
- When spam increases, review NG words, required fields, and discussion availability together
- Rate limits affect user convenience, so avoid setting them longer than necessary
What to Do Next
After configuring anti-spam settings, test both blocked and normal submissions on the inquiry form and discussions
